Sazerac Restaurant

Serious fun and damn good food

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner
  • Happy hour & prix fixe menu
  • Private dining and catering

Since opening in 1997, the Seattle Times has said, "This southern-style spot is destined to be a Seattle classic." The 185-seat Sazerac--named for a potent New Orleans cocktail--features a high-energy atmosphere. Its open, high-ceilinged room, elevated exhibition kitchen and vibrantly designed interior - featuring handcrafted steel-frame chandeliers and distressed copper structures - make for a stylish destination.

Executive Chef Jason McClure highlights Southern dishes like flash-fried catfish with lemon-whipped potatoes and jalapeno-lime meuniere, and cider-glazed pork back ribs with sweet corn-brioche bread pudding.

Sazerac relies on Southern hospitality: The restaurant staff makes everyone feel at home, visitors and locals alike.

Editorial Review for Sazerac Restaurant – by Jill Lightner

The Scene
Big booths, bright colors and sweet Southern accents on a strangely high percentage of the waitstaff add up to relaxed, fun atmosphere. The signs order diners to "shut up and eat," but with so many dishes sized for sharing, expect plenty of conversation. Servers check in regularly and keep everyone happy with sincere recommendations, flirty smiles and regular refills.

The Food
While the menu changes frequently, one thing is consistent: Every little thing is house-made. An outstanding ingredient is the andouille sausage; try it on a thin, crisp pizza or in a thick, rice-filled gumbo. Cornmeal-coated catfish is tender, and the fresh-ground burger is wonderfully juicy; a creamy vegetarian choice involves soft dumplings, artichoke hearts, peas, mushrooms and plenty of butter. It's imperative for chocolate lovers to save room for the warm pudding cake topped with fresh cream.

We took our daughter to this establishment for her milestone 18th birthday. We made our reservation early and called ahead of time to insure that well behaved children were welcome. We were informed they were and that children frequented their establishment. When we arrived our server was GREAT and the food was pretty good as well. HOWEVER, when my child fell and started crying we were ASKED TO LEAVE!!! Can you believe that!! If you are looking for a nice dinner to enjoy with your family do NOT visit SAZERAC

Pros: decor, food

Cons: service, parking, management
