Editorial Review for Big Time Brewery & Alehouse – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Nestled on the south end of the Ave, Big Time's antique bar, vintage beer signs and wood floors give it a turn-of-the-century feel. A steady flow of all stratum of UW affiliates circulates, from coeds to profs. Safe college standards play on the jukebox. Ten of their own brews are on tap, with selection varying depending on the season, and the student-priced menu is stocked with standard pub fare: pizza, sandwiches and salads.

This place rules. Great beer, mellow staff and patrons, a couple tvs, a shuffleboard table, a few dark booths in the back. Prime Time Pale Ale is my #1beer.

Pros: beer, food, staff

Cons: It closes at night

Nice and simple bar. You order yourself and bring your own drinks and food to the table, like in bars in Europe. If you're eating, i would recommend the pizza which is excellent. We also tried the chilli but it was avarage at best and came with some strange garlic bread. Better to just focus on the pizza... The beers are good too and the atmosphere is nice.

Pros: Great pizza, good beer.

Cons: other foods are so-so

Seattle's oldest microbrewery is a neighborhood mainstay popular with the U-District's beer-chugging minions.  See the full editorial review.
