The Scene
Roche Harbor is worth a visit for its scenic location and history. The original inn, the ivy-covered Hotel de Haro, dates from 1886 and is a national historic site. Formerly a lime and cement company, the resort has a popular marina, tennis courts, a swimming pool and all sorts of boating and water-sports activities.
The Details
The condominiums--which have striking marina views, fireplaces and televisions--are terrific for families, though a long walk from the main resort. Families who want to be closer to tennis and swimming may opt for one of the cottages, built around 1890 as housing for company workers.
