Editorial Review for Colaizzo Opticians – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Camille Colaizzo and her team of opticians have staffed this minimalist shop at the crest of Queen Anne since 1989, and she makes jaunts to Europe three times each year to hand pick frames. She favors looks that stand alone over brand names. Consequently, the selection here is varied and fashion forward. Glasses are crafted start to finish on site, from choosing frames to grinding lenses.

I've been purchasing eyeglasses from Camille Colaizzo at Colaizzo Opticians since 1999. Currently I own six pairs from Colaizzo and one pair of sunglasses. Colaizzo's eye glasses are truely unique and I always receive compliments on the glasses I wear, including the pair I bought in 1999 that are a redish brown tortoise shell. A few years ago my perscription changed and John at Colaizzo made new lenses for me so I could continue to wear my favorite glasses. The level of personal service you receive at Colaizzo's is worth the trip to the top of Queen Anne Hill. They always go the distance to keep this customer happy. Colaizzo Opticians also donates to my favorite gay chorus and chamber, which is nice to see a business giving back to the community. I highly recommend this business to anyone who like to look good.

Pros: Great Selection and customer service

Cons: You want to buy everything

I walked in off the street not looking for eyeglasses, but for someone who could help with my right eye. My contact had riped in 1/2. I managed to retrieve one half, but the other half was lodged and scratching my eye. Think much pain! Camille was an angel -- my hero! In minutes, she managed to get the mangled 1/2 contact out my eye. It was great relief. So, if this is the customer service for someone they don't know asking for something they don't offer --- well, I can only imagine how great they are with eyewear. I won't have to wait too long to know this. I will be back to the store when I'm purchasing my next pair of eyeglasses. They are totally worth the effort!

Pros: Very customer focused!
