I have used DDL since 2006. My experience has been uniformly good. From the webcams to daily updates on my dog's day, I know that I have trusted my dog to a caring group of people. They really do care about dog safety and are excellent about lettting me know if they have medical concerns. They nurtured my old dog until he died and then sent me the most wonderful sympathy card with nice comments by all of the wranglers who touched his life. They are now giving the same love to my new dog. I can not say enough positive things about this place. I have only had good experiences with the staff and management., especially Elise and Pat. The young people who work there are really committed to the dogs. I get timely phone calls and written reports if there is a '"playmate or behavior" issue. Oftentimes I get more information than I did when my son was in daycare! I am a choosey consumer and really recommend DDL on Elliott. My dogs have flourished there!

I took my Havanese to the Downtown Dog Lounge to be groomed. He is 14 months old, and has been groomed 6 times previously with no complaints. He also has been through obedience classes and goes to day care once a week - where he receives compliments for how well-adjusted he is. This was his 3rd time at DDL - his first time, he was groomed by Erin who said he did great and said she would like to see him again. This last time, he was groomed by someone else, whose name I did not get. When I picked him up after his groom, the groomer came out to speak with me. She told me that he had a TERRIBLE time being groomed that day. She said, I have a very small table and he was all over it, avoiding being groomed and fighting me, and falling off the table. She said that he got so upset he "gave himself" a bloody nose and then was put in a kennel for 45 minutes to try to calm down. When I asked what she suggested to prevent this from happening again, she said she recommended I get him groomed every three weeks until he learned to enjoy it (at $60 a grooming session). While I, personally, am horrified that my dog went through that for a haircut, I leave it to you to determine whether you feel comfortable taking your dog there for a groom.
