Editorial Review for Ananya Spa – by Anna Roth
In Short
Enter the door, take a right at the desk and walk through the hanging velvet curtain into a sanctuary, where twinkling tea lights, a babbling fountain, muted lighting, comfy chairs and Asian-inspired accents help everyday life melt away. Massage is this spa's specialty, offering Swedish, deep tissue, sport and Thai varieties given by the eminently capable owner Julianne, but a wide assortment of specialty facials are also popular, from moxy-caviar to vitamin C. This place is too cute. It is quite cozier than most places I have been to. When you walk in you instantly feel relaxed by the candlelit room and the quietness of the place. The facial I received bas a perfect balance of clinical and rejuvenating, with the best massage I have ever received in a facial. I will send all of my friends and family here.
Pros: very private and quiet
Cons: none

I guess I just don't understand how this spa could have won for best facial. Mine was average at best. I've never had a facial before where the technician didn't use steam to open the pores before extraction. And after a very nice arm and shoulder massage while the mask was on (very nice touch), I was looking forward to the face massage...but it never happened! The facilities are makeshift at best...super dark, beds are a bit hard, fan blowing right on you, bathroom outside) but I would have ignored all that if the facial were top notch. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the hassle of commuting and parking.
Pros: People were very nice
Cons: Not worth the trip
