I am a native NYer and took the uptown tour recently, I really enjoyed the view - having never been on a double decker tour before. The tourguide, Joel, was great! He seemed really interested in everything he was explaining. the tour flew by, i couldn't believe it was 3 hours long!
Pros: Tourguide and view
Cons: bus seemed a little grimy.

This was definitely a good tour to take to get familiar with the city, however, after reading through a couple of tour books i knew more about the city than the guide. I took the 2 hour bus tour at night, great sites helps maximize your exposure to the city. Overall i wouldn't recommend it.
