User Reviews for Flying Pie Pizzeria

Flying Pie offers pizza that is full of toppings and goodness. I would rate the quality of the dough but I never pay attention to it. Your pizza will take a long time to cook. This doesn't matter if you like toppings. I recommend ordering your pizza and sitting down with a beer or three while it bakes. The relatively poor value, long wait times, and sub par service will tick you off until you see your pizza.

Pros: FOOD!

Cons: Long wait, staff does not speak English, expensive

Date night with my husband is very special to me. My walking partners, have been talking about the Flying Pie since forever. It was my turn to pick. The location is easy to find. I "mapquested". The freeway signs on I-90, helped too. The restaurant was busy. We ordered a couple of micro brews and sat down to review the bill of fare. The menu is mouth watering. Hand tossed pizza. The best part is that you can watch your pizzas being made and baked, which we did. Our Stromboli pizza order, we were told would take 25 minutes. So, we had another round. Had a salad, from the salad bar. MMMM, breadsticks. We are accustomed to ordering the largest size pizza. The order taker talked us into ordering less, (14"). My husband worried that we wouldn't have enough. Half a pizza later as we're both rubbing our full bellies, my darling husband is already salivating at the idea that he's having pizza for lunch the next day. I love this place. Prices are affordable, when you consider that you get 2 meals. Beer is cheap. Quaint interior. Friendly staff. Delivery too, but not to Everett, where we live. We'll be back!!!!!

Pros: Easy to find. Convenient parking.

Cons: No Flying Pie in Everett

I found it interesting that someone else new to Issaquah had the same experience we did. The moving crew that delivered our house items highly recommended this place, so we thought we should try it. The guy on te other end of the phone kept holding a conversation with someone else standing near him, and asked us to repeat our order multiple times, then he'd get distracted and ask us yet again! To top it all off, it took over an hour for our pizza to finally get delivered, and the smarmy delivery person wasn't even the remotest bit friendly. the pizza itself was mediocre at best, and not at all impressive. I've had much better pizza from larger chain restaurants.

Pros: Can't really think of any...

Cons: If you expect speedy delivery, call somewhere else.

This place is great for parties, and very good food. The calzones are super, so is the pizza. The salads are not bad either. I like the two dollar pints of beer on mondays. Some very good quality beers, like Mac&Jacks. The staff trys to do their job, which is more than I can say about any other place period. I live in Issaquah, but travel alot, so I know a good place when I see one!

Pros: Thumbs up on these one. I like the decor.

Cons: The temp is a little on the cool side.

Having just moved to Issaquah, we were looking for a new pizza-delivery spot. Based on the reviews on citysearch, we decided on Flying Pie... When I called, from the first sentence, the young lady on the phone came across like I was putting her out by simply calling in. I asked if they delivered, she curtly asked for my address which I gave only to have her state, "I don't know, where is this?" I told her the simple (and short) directions from Front Street and she said that her driver was "slow" and might not be able to find it (not sure what she meant by 'slow', but those were her words). She (reluctantly) agreed to take my order and I proceeded with communicating my order (large pizza here, small pizza there, salads, etc, etc). She then put me on hold and came back stating quickly, "Sorry, we can't take any deliveries tonight." Perhaps my customer-service expecatations are too high...? I know if this were MY business and I had spent nearly 5 minutes on the phone w/ a potential new customer who placed an elaborate and expensive order, I would've found any way to stick to my original commitment of delivery. The 1 star rating is for this experience only; and I think everyone deserves a second chance, so I'll try Flying Pie Pizzeria some day... ...and I guess it better be take out.

The toppings on Flying Pie pizzas are top notch and the combos are piled high with them. I especially enjoy their spicy sausage. I wish Flying Pie's prices were lower, but I suspect they have to charge what they charge to cover the cost of how loaded those pizzas are. Their largest combo approaches $40, but it would easily feed four very heathly appetites, if not six. You can easily over eat here. Their pizzas are much more filling per slice than other pizza restaurants. I have only two complaints. The first is that the crust could be better. The crust on the end sort of resembles a dry low quality bread stick that's a little overcooked. I don't think the crust is good enough to eat on its own. The toppings are so good, however, that you will probably not notice this deficiency until the end of the slice. The second complaint is that, for all of the numerous times I've been there, they seem unable to cut the pizza into consistently sized slices. One slice will be narrow and the next is gigantic. Also, don't be surprised if it takes 30 minutes to prepare a pizza after you order. I often order ahead by phone to shorten the wait, even when dining in. The table (complete with place settings) on the ceiling is a kick and the wealth of posters covering the walls gives customers plenty to look at.

Pros: Pizza (especially the spicy sausage), decorating, very friendly staff

Walking thru the door welcomes me to the warm smells of a busy kitchen. My eyes are searching the room to see all the eclectic and colorful surroundings, as well as the crusts being thrown in the air. The service is friendly and casual, the pizza hearty. I have introduced many folks to this hole in the wall pizzaria and their hand pulled spicy sausage, my personal favorite. The downtown Issaquah location brings families for the dinner hour, ballteams on the weekends, and skiers on their way to the slopes stopping for a single slice. This is a family run business and an anchor for the community. Thanks Flying Pie!

We don't know why we did not try this great place before. We had a wonderful sausage and pepperoni pizza, and the kids enjoyed running around playing the vintage video games, which gave us a chance to enjoy our beer and wine. The posters on the wall are unique and interesting along with the table on the ceiling! A great discovery is their THIN crust pizza for those of us trying to avoid the carbs. This is my only place for pizza now.

Pros: Low key relaxing atmosphere

Cons: There are not more locations

Just had a 12" stromboli with jalepenos last night with a friend. Then played some Donkey Kong. Discovered they have $2.00 micro beer pints on Monday's. Service and food was great!! Definitely going back for more!!

I have been going in to the Issaquah Flying Pie for a few years. I was shocked when they remembered me, after it had been 2 months since my previous visit. The staff is very friendly and family oriented, they are a great supporter of the community. I live 20 miles away and pass 4-5 other pizza places to go there. If you have an extra half hour to spend there, take some time to look around inside. The decorations/pictures are great. There is always something fun to look at. I highly recommend everything about this establishment, and look forward to my next pie from them!!

Pros: Pizza, customer service

Cons: none

Editor's Review

The ambiance is atypical Eastside, but a chewy Sicilian crust and tasty toppings help it take the cake-er, pie.  See the full editorial review.
