I have been going to this place for a couple of years now and it seems to have finally settled into a groove. The pizza is consistently great. The service is pretty decent considering all the kiddie dodging the servers must do and the patience they must have while parents check out over a pitcher of beer. But, that being said - the food is the real draw. I get the Nooner every time. Garlic olive oil, sausage, gorgonzola, caramelized onion and apples - you have never had it soooo good. Delivery is always friendly and sometimes they run a little behind, but it is a mom & pop operation as far as I can tell. As a previous review mentioned the will sometimes go out of their delivery area depending (I live on S. Beacon Hill where they don't deliver) on how busy their driver is. I don't find that a consistency issue at all. The will come here if they aren't busy - they won't if they are. I find that to be pretty nice. Since I am out of the area, I have to wait extra time but it is a trade off I am willing to make for such tasty pie.

Pros: delicious pizza, local ownership, delivery

Cons: kids/loud

I used to recommend this place to all my friends and co-workers. Now I regret it. The pizza is great and so is the Hot brownie desert. Love the kids area, it gives parents a nice break. The problem is the Passive Aggressive Service. Here is what I mean....I canceled a pizza delivery from them after calling twice to find out the ETA, but after an HOUR and 50 minutes I had to feed my son, so I called back and canceled. Ever since then when I call for a delivery I get "could you hold for a minute" after a long hold I get a yes or no. Because every time I call they may or may not deliver to my area. Okay you do or you don't , be consist. Of course this all has happened after I canceled my order. They always know who is calling because of the phone and ordering system. Maybe I is just a coincidence, but the service in the pizza parlor doesn't exactly come with a smile either, that why I took the time to write a review.

Pros: kids area

Cons: service

I was just driving down Jackson one day, and all of a sudden, a pizza place jumped out of no where. I thought "whoa, what is that doing here?" So I called up my brother and said, "Hey, we gotta try this place out!" We made ourselves look like fools as we walked in, because we did not understand that we were supposed to wait to be seated. So we just wandered around the joint aimlessly until a waitress directed us what to do. There is not a lot of seating in the place, but it is not cramped. We noticed the sourdough crust advertisement, so we had to check that out. We had the Hullabaloo pizza, and we were very impressed. Fresh ingredients, and the crust is awesome. The people were very nice, but there was only one waitress that night with a full restaurant. So we were a little neglected, but we weren't in any hurry. Also, it is a little noisy when there are a group of kids playing in their "children's area." They have some awesome TV's set up if you want to check out a game, but they are not intrusive if you are looking to just converse with others. The pizza was a little bit on the pricey side, but you are paying for a very high quality product, so it is a good value. Finally, the neighborhood is not necessarily the best in Seattle, and the parking is not ideal. However, these little issues are trivial when looking at the overall atmosphere and quality of the food. If you are looking for just an awesome slice, then this is the place to go.

Pros: Awesome pie!

Cons: Little noisy.

we went to this place for an early dinner (around 5:15) and found the place mostly empty. Our service was prompt and friendly and our food came quickly. The pizza was good, nothing really special. We ordered the kitchen sink pizza and a few salads. Their Caesar is good and the Greek salad was good also. The selection of beer leaves a lot to be desired considering Ale is part of the name of the restaurant and they are in Seattle. I am interested to bring our kid here once he or she is old enough to run around and play in the kids kitchen (not born yet) since the kids that did come in the door immediately gravitated to this little kids area. We will come back.

Pros: Prompt service, clean tables and bathrooms

Cons: limited selection of beer and a little bit expensive for what you get.

I am on the fence about this place. I've had a truly incredible pizza there, but the last time I went we also got one that was basically almost undercooked (the cheese hadn't even browned!) and it was so loud with all the families with kids (we were the only ones without children) that it wasn't the best dining experience. I think they should get noise-absorbing curtains or something. But if you have kids, it seems like it would be a really fun plcae for them to go--there's even a little kitchen set up where they're playing with each other and extra pizza dough. And there are pitchers of beer for adults. And they do deliver. And the sourdough crust is really, really good.

Amazing pizza! Since having to move to California for work, this is one of my most missed spots. Get a side of the homemade pesto to spread on top of your pizza -- incredible!

Stopped here on a Saturday evening with my wife and some friends. We tried two different pizzas, 4 cheese with pepperoni, and a gorgonzola and pear pie. Both pizzas were awesome. We moved here from Michigan and have not been impressed with the pizza in the area, but this has been an exception. Great service and a really laid-back atmosphere. Beer selection was good, but this was the one area that wasn't outstanding. All in all, a great experience.

Pros: Pizza taste, creativity of selections, service, atmosphere

Cons: Beer selection needs a few more choices

The service at All Purpose Pizza is simply atrocious. We have experienced: -long wait for food (always) -inattentive waitstaff (always) -lost orders (this has happened to us twice for dine-in and once for delivery) -wrong orders (this also happened to us twice) -less-than-fresh salad, especially at lunchtime However, if you can tolerate the above, you'll have a great meal, even if they don't deliver what you ordered. The pizza is delicious! We also appreciate the kid friendly atmosphere. You just have to go there expecting bad service.

Pros: Pizza, Kid Friendly

Cons: Service, Ambience, TVs too loud

Whoa - I have been hearing about All Purpose Pizza for a while - but I am weird about trying "new restaurants". I like to wait until the hype passes and they get their "sea legs". Well Sea Legs and a Shins album later - this place is amazing!! The sourdough crust is one that satisfies on every level! My kids - and there are 3 of them - are side tracked in the kid area where they get their own dough and entertain themselves among the hordes of other kids there (and parents who need a "break") - the staff is friendly and many of them eye candy. The owners are usually present which my wife and I love because it is truly owner operated. Hands down the best pizza in Seattle. Try it - regret won't be a word coming across your lips! Your kids will beg to go back and you will be hard pressed to deny them with such good food as part of the bargain!

Pros: Sourdough crust, hand tossed so it can be made to order; kids area is just what you need

Cons: its loud

Editor's Review

A cheerful Central District pizzeria builds specialty pies on hand-tossed sourdough crust--and delivers to the surrounding area.  See the full editorial review.
