Saw this movie the other day with my son (27). Good movie. Didn't think the metal figures were as creative as just the sand taking form. I don't think it was as good as the 1st and 2nd Mummy movies. Was good to see Brandon Frazier in this film, still looking good.

It was better than any review that I got from anywhere.. I am a huge Jet Li fan, and not only was he super BA but, the rest of the cast did a good job also. Yes there was some cheesy stuff, but what movie doesn't have some cheesy stuff?

Pros: Jet Li

Cons: Slightly corny

I too went to this movie with high expectations. I LOVE Brendon Fraser, and loved the first Mummy movie. I think their first mistake was to take it to another country. The second was not having Rachel Weisz back playing Evelyn. I think if they would of corrected those first two problems, it might of been more enjoyable for us diehard Mummy fans. I had a hard time believing these two people (Brendon and Maria Bello) as man and wife. It seemed strained. Also....way too much time with the son. I wanted to see more of Brendon's character. It seemed the movie was split in half between father and son. Plus the son looked too old, or Brendon looked to young. It just didn't work. The special effects were great, along with Jet Li's and Michelle Yeoh's performance. And the limited time we got to see Brendon was also great. I love the comical witty side he brings to a action character. Not your Bruce Willis/Silvester Stallon type. But that's what we love about him. Plus he's wonderful on film. You can't take your eyes off him. So yea...I was very dissapointed in this movie. It seemed they left it open for a Mummy 4 at the end. So please if you make another one...get Rachel Weisz back and let's get those REAL looking mummies back too. Jet Li's mummy with the fire coming out of him, was not what most of us think a mummy should look like. I think if they named this something else and had maybe Jason Statham from the Transporter movies as the lead, maybe that would of flew. So Brendon, if you are out there, please know we all love you dearly, but please let us see more of you, and make sure you have Rachel Weisz by your side for the next one.

Pros: Scenery, Brendon when he was on screen, some comical moments.

Cons: Fake looking mummies, the wrong wife, too much son.

I loved the first Mummy and couldn't wait to see this one. What a disappointment! After the first hour I couldn't take it any more and walked out. Not sure how the rest of the movie went and could really care less. I'll finish it when it comes out on video, where at least I can be doing other things,

Cons: very boring for the first hour - a very long movie!!

Nothing about this movie was believable. I really liked the first Mummy, which is the reason why I went to go this version but this latest effort had very little connection to the first movie. The story line was far fetched and had to be connected by a random creation of cartoon like monsters which were supposed to tie various scenes together. It seemed that some of the scenes ended as if the writers wanted to go home and then flipped a coin to see which ridiculous ending was left in the hat. The dialogue was mostly drivel and but not for the fact that I like Brendon Fraiser and his brand of comedy (this is not a drama by any means) I would have walked out. I left thinking that I just wasted 2 hours of my life that I will never get back. Please don't waste two hours of your life. Pass on this almost unwatchable movie.

Like the 2nd Mummy film, this is just an alright B film. We went to an afternoon showing and both felt the movie was just not that great. They replaced the wife with another actress and usually I'm fine with switched but for some reason it was just a hard transition. The initial scene with Fraser and "wife" were just painful. As was most of the dialog between characters...just such bad Hollywood tripe. The action was fine although the special effects were limited when it came to a huge screne when you expected something spectacular. The 20 year old son and Fraser being what 35....that just didn't work at all. Nor did the leading lady with the son, good old fashion bad actors right there. Michele Yeo and Jet Li...smaller roles than you think and very limited background. Disappointing.
