Throw Me the Statue
Throw Me the Statue
This year, Block Party's bigger than ever -- featuring local darlings Throw Me the Statue, Fleet Foxes, and the Cave Singers, to name a few from the all-star lineup. Here are our suggestions for rocking the block this weekend.

Where to Prefunk

Start the night off right at any of these nearby locations.
  1. Maharaja Cuisine of India

720 E Pike St, Seattle, WA
Indian restaurant by day, campy lounge by night.. Enjoy some of the cheapest drinks in town at the Maha before heading up to catch the shows.

  2. Comet Tavern

922 E Pike St, Seattle, WA
Right in the middle of the action, the Comet might be packed - but you can delight in PBR and great people watching at this Cap Hill mainstay.

  3. Linda's Tavern

707 E Pine St, Seattle, WA
This veritable Cap Hill establishment offers one crucial element: a back porch. Hang out in the sun on the deck while eating one of the unusual burger options - like the pineapple and swiss cheese burger.

  4. Rosebud Restaurant & Bar

719 E Pike St, Seattle, WA
Laid back and yet close to the concerts, Rosebud is a great option for those who want to have a salad and sip a negroni before diving into the chaos.

Hot Shows

Where to End the Night

After a day of dancing and drinking up a storm, here are the best spots for refueling.
  1. Smith

    332 15th Ave E, Seattle, WA
Head up to 15th to escape the crowds and hang out at older version of Linda's (with more taxidermy). Chef Tyler Palagi's menu has many options for refueling, so you are ready to get up and do it all again Saturday.

  2. Cafe Presse

    1117 12th Ave, Seattle, WA
Serving steak frites and more until 1am, Presse hits the spot. Just far enough away from the mayhem, but close enough for a night time stroll down 12th.

  3. Pike Street Fish Fry

925 E. Pike St, Seattle, WA
You don't have to leave the Block Party to get food - stop into this hipster haven and nosh on the grilled octopus, fried halibut, or oysters - all while sipping on some PBR.

  4. Hot Mama's Pizza

    700 E Pine, Seattle, WA
Head down Pike for your greasy-food fix: Hot Mama's serves up two slices for $5.

  5. Via Tribunali

913 E Pike St, Seattle, WA
Just steps from the main stage, the Trib has the ingredients for a major feast: Neapolitan pizza, mozzerella & prosciutto plates, and bar service until 2am.
